Jade and the flying scooter

This is my up-dated literacy homework, because Mum and Dad pointed out that I had just re-told the story, rather than modernised it, which is what it said to do on the sheet!!!

Well, here it is!:

Hello! You might have heard of me in ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ I’m ‘Jacks’ mum. The reporter got everything wrong! ‘Jack’ is really Jade and there are lots of other mistakes too! Here’s the real story:

In 4015 me and Jade were so poor we had nothing for dinner. I told Jade to sell our favourite robot for Euros. So Jade left for the city. It was a long walk but on the way she met a man on a flying-scooter. He wanted a robot and offered to swap it for his scooter. Jade agreed, took the scooter and gave him the robot.

When she told me what had happened I was furious! I chucked the scooter out of the window and sent Jade to bed. When Jade got upstairs she looked out the window at her new scooter and to her amazement it rose up to the window close enough for her to jump on. One minute Jade was just flying round the garden then she disappeared…

Jade re-appeared in a strange place with nothing except 5 pots of gold, surrounded by dwarfs. She leapt off her scooter and ran towards the pots of gold, attempting to grab one of them. The dwarfs pushed her back. Then Jade remembered her scooter. She ran over and jumped on, flew over the dwarfs and grabbed a pot of gold! She flew gracefully over to the spot where she had first arrived and was back to her garden in no-time.

When she told me what had happened this time, I was so pleased that I went and bought Jade a ‘tamagotchi’ which she had always wanted!
