Hello!
Today I was doing my home-work in which we had to modernise the traditional tale of; Jack in the bean-stalk.
Here's my version:
There was once a little girl called Jade, who lived in a small cottage. Her mum owned a goat (Daffodil). They were very poor and had little food for tea, so one day Jades mother asked her to go to the village and sell Daffodil. Sadly, Jade tied a piece of rope round Daffodil’s neck, and set off for the village.
The village was a long way away. Jade was tired out!
But, surprisingly her journey was shortened, when she bumped into an old man. “Hello” He said. “How’d you like three magic acorns? I’ll swap them for your goat.”
“Well, I, Ok then!” So Jade handed over Daffodil, and took the magic beans. She looked up and the man had gone!
Jade went home and told her mum about what had happened. Jade’s mum was very angry and threw the beans out of the window before sending her to bed. In the morning, Jade was shocked to see an oak tree in their garden! She quickly got dressed and hurried out into the garden to climb it. When she reached the top, she saw a big whole. She slipped in and realised it was a slide! When Jade reached the bottom, she saw an enormous hen sitting next to a pot of gold. She reached out for them, but heard a noise. When she looked down, she saw thousands of tiny people guarding the two objects.
“You are who?” one of them rudely queried. “J...J...Jade, Welter-weed.” She stuttered nervously. “That’s fine then!” said another of the little people, “take them, take them both. -The treasure I mean!-” The people slowly moved out of the way so that Jade could reach the ‘treasure’, and Jade took them back to her house to show her mum.
She was so pleased with her daughter that she went out and bought jelly for desert –seeing they had so much money– which was Jade’s most favourite!
When you next hear the story of ‘Jack and the bean-stalk’, you’ll know that this is the real story!
Well, thats all for now!
