My Story

I have recently been reading books by 'Cliff Mcnish'. He is the fantastic author of 'The Silver sequence,' and 'The Doomspell trilogy'.
As I was so inspired, I decided to start writing my own story based on 'The scent of magic'. (From the doomspell, trilogy.)So here is the begining:...

Dredwana the Witch

Dredwana lay there for a few minuets, resting on her elbow. Her eyes would not open. Slowly she raised her left arm up to her face, and she rubbed her sore eyes. As she rubbed, pieces of skin flew off, and whizzed a round the room before landing on the soft floor! When she lowered her arm again, she realised, gladly that she could open her black, oily eye. Hurriedly Dredwana began to vividly rub the other eye, and the same thing happened.
She peered around the room she was in. The carefully painted walls were a light purple colour, with small flower stickers, dotted around the pearl white ceiling. There were beautifully varnished oak wood book shelves, on one side of the room. On the other side, there were some draws and wardrobes, made of the same varnished oak wood. Dredwana clicked her fingers, and instantly the cupboards and draws swung open, revealing a number of elegant dresses, scruffy jeans, and a wonderful assortment of tops. The nasty witch snarled at the clothes and pointed a shaking finger at them. Suddenly, the lovely outfits were torn to pieces. Dredwana began to laugh, a screeching, high pitched laugh.
She stopped laughing, and lazily lay down onto the soft mattress. There, the horrifying witch heard a noise. It seemed to come from under the bed. Carefully, the witch held onto the railings, and pulled herself up, to peer over the edge of the tall bed.
Dredwana gasped!
For under the bed, was a small girl, with long, golden locks that had been plaited on top of her head. The timid girl gazed up at the witch, with an adorable face. But the stunning thing about her was her magnificent, glistening blue eyes.
Sadly, they were filled with tears.

Whilst I do not condone the philosophical content of evil witches and what not, I must say how beautifully written your story is. Your father could learn a lot about spelling, punctuation and grammar from the likes of you. I hope that decide to take up writing as a career. If you are interested may I suggest that you begin by writing my biography. It may take a long time but it will be a best seller for sure. I will leave the content up to you, however I must insist that the title of the book be called 'Making them laugh - the biography of Derek Cate's son'
